Why Weight (Wait)?

Don’t wait to get in shape! We are in the midst of the holiday season and approaching the new year! All too often during the holiday season,  we put our health on the back burner and tell ourselves we will pick it up again with the new year. This kind of thinking can wreak havoc on our bodies and also sends the wrong message to ourselves and our loved ones.

Our health and wellness should be a lifestyle. A top priority within our daily routines because it is our health that allows us to be around for our loved ones and to do all that we are responsible for. Don’t’ wait for the new year to make your health a priority. Here are few ways to help you make it your mission to include fitness into the holiday schedule:

1-Give the gift of fitness: There are so many options to give this holiday season, why not make a statement about the types of gifts you give. Gift cards for training sessions or boot camps make for excellent gifts. Gifting memberships to organizations or paying the entry fee to events are other awesome ways to give fitness. Stop by your local exercise equipment store and you will find hundreds of gift ideas. From larger exercise pieces such as treadmills and ellipticals to accessories like Bongo Boards, Bosu Balls and Jungle Gyms. There are options for every budget and you can always go with a gift card as well!  Now is a great time to buy exercise equipment, so if a new exercise piece of equipment has been on your mind for your own home, don’t wait! What a great family present exercise equipment is. Wrap a big bow around it and label it as the “feel good” machine!

2-Make fitness a family thing: There are many events during the holidays that the whole family can participate in. Find a local run/walk such as a Jingle Bell run and sign the whole family up. If you live in an area where weather prevents you from going outside, find a local boot camp, spin class or other activity you can do that the whole family can enjoy! Just keep things moving!

3-Feel Good-For so many of us the holidays are a time for family, giving  and feeling the holiday joy! So put the focus on feeling good. Working out, staying hydrated and giving positive energy to others are awesome ways to take your holiday festive mindset to whole new level! Life is just better when we feel good!
